Decoratively challenged

Why is decorating so frustrating to me? I LOVE my house more than anything, but it feels like a hospital in a sense. We haven't painted or decorated in any way yet. Everything is stark white. There are bathrooms to decorate, an office, my craft room, bedrooms, etc. I have NO idea what to do. We went to Target today and I see a lot of things I like, but I have no idea how to put them together to make up a room. I think I just need to start out small...say a small bathroom, buy the rugs, shower curtain, accessories, etc to make it one cohesive room. Mom....when are you going to come out here and visit? Then we could go shopping.....why don't you move out here so we can do that all the time? Sheesh!!! I need all the help I can get!!

oh my gosh! :) How exciting... don't get bogged down and just take one room at a time. You could theme your rooms... like the bathroom could be all aquatic (or shades of blue) or the living room could be very contemporary or worldly... try looking at home magazines to get a feel for what you like and then take it from there. :) And Target has TONS of fun stuff to decorate with, as does Pier 1, Bed Bath and Beyond and even Costco! Good luck my dear - hope your headaches go away soon.

You have very wise friends. Jen's advice is perfect but I definitely want to come out and help you. I will do that soon. Color if the key, keep the accessories very tasteful and very limited. Don't over decorate, keep it simple. You have great taste, follow your instincts.
