What is wrong with America?

Ok....so J and I came across this gem of a dictionary tonight. It's pretty damn funny.......I dont know who came up with this stuff.........Here is an example for you:

baby daddy
1. a male, often a boyfriend or an ex-boyfriend. Most often means the father of, or someone who provides for, a female's child. Derived from "he is my baby's daddy." "When my baby daddy get back, he'll bust you in your grill!"

I'm gonna bust you in your grill if you dont read the rest of the dictionary. Bwaha!

City of Commuters

I started my new job today...and we haven't moved yet...meaning I have to commute. Ok, I have to say the people that do this are either really stupid, or just have tons of time on their hands. I wasted an hour and a half of my life today just driving home from work. I left at 5pm and didnt get home until 6:30. OMG...I wanted to strangle myself. I'm used to a 25 minute commute max. An hour and a half of my life wasted, gone, never to be gotten back. How do people do this day in and day out? Are they making a ton of money? Is money worth that much that you are willing to give up half your life to sit in a car? Ugh, no thank you. I cant wait until we move on Friday...a few more days of this and you'll have to lock me up at the funny farm.

The Good Ole Days of Yesteryear........

It's funny the things that remind us of our childhood. I was watching tv earlier today and there was a commercial for a lawn mower. The sound of the lawn mower suddenly brought back memories from my childhood. I was reminded of my father mowing the lawn while waiting for the grill to heat up. That then made me think of all the times we grilled out on the beautiful Minnesota summer days. Mom's awesome iced tea and homemade potato salad, dad's awesome steaks....fresh salad from his garden. Man, I miss those days. The whole family sat down and ate dinner together and it was always something fresh and healthy. That is one of the reasons I'm super excited to move into the house we rented. It has a huge backyard (by California standards) and we are going to buy a grill as our first major purchase. I cant wait to grill out and enjoy the summer days rather than hide from the fog like we do in the city now. We will actually have summer similar to Minnesota finally. I sure do miss those days.....thanks for all of the memories Mom and Dad. I had a great childhood and I really appreciate everything you did for me. You are the greatest parents a girl could ever have! I love you!! :)

Mom? Is that you?

So I had to call my Mom today to check to see if she was cheating on my father with another man. And was she here in San Francisco? Why did I have to call her and ask her this you wonder? J and I went to the gas station today and standing next to the car at the pump behind us was my Mother (who lives in MN mind you.) I had to do a double, make that a triple take until I realized it wasnt her. Of all the times I wish I had my camera with me, it was that moment. My cell phone doesnt take good pictures and doesnt work in bright sunlight. I wanted to take this womans picture and show it to my mother as she would have had a heart attack. This woman could have been my mothers long lost twin. It was eerie. She was short, thin, had short red hair, same lips, same skin, even dressed the same as my mother. The only difference J and I could come up with was that they had a tad bit different profile (the nose was different). At that moment I wished I had been a more outgoing person. I didnt want to bother this woman so I didnt talk to her....although she kept looking at me, probably thinking I was crazy because I kept staring at her. Bummer....I wish I would have gotten this womans picture!!!

US Postal Service

What is wrong with the mail service in this city? I subscribe to three magazines.....every month I see my magazines on store shelves for weeks and weeks before I finally get mine in the mail. It's now March 21st and I just received my March issues of two of my magazines a few days ago....still waiting on the 3rd one. I took them to the salon today to show a haircut and color I wanted and I left them there! ugh!! I've been waiting forever for them and I go and leave them somewhere. So as I'm sitting there getting my hair done, the mail comes. And lo and behold the salon receives it's April copy of the same magazine I just received the March issue of 2 days ago....huh? I'm so confused. I'm hoping once I move out of the city, this wont be a problem anymore. I'm hoping once there arent hundreds of thousands of people all living on top of each other...the mail service will be a bit quicker. UGH!! So frustrating!!!

UPDATE: Just went and got the mail.....and I received my third magazine today! Yay! They must be spying on my blog...maybe it's anonymous. Ha!

How lazy has my life become you ask?

Well, let's see. As I sit here on my laptop.....I received a few deliveries today. I received my groceries from Safeway. Did I go to the store? No, I ordered them from my laptop and they were brought to my door. I also received my Victoria's Secret order. Did I at least go to the store for that one? No way! That too, was delivered to my front door. Man, pretty soon I wont need to leave the house for anything anymore. What has this world come to? No one ever needs to go outside for anything. I must say though, this doesnt upset me one bit. I love being lazy, and I dont know what I would do without the internet to make that happen!! God bless the person who invented the world wide web. Posted by Picasa

At Peace

I can breath a sigh of relief today because I know that I dont have to go to work tomorrow...or at all next week for that matter. I'm so at peace with this fact. I have only been unemployed twice in my life after the age of 16. Once was when I left my job of 8 years in MN to move to GA. The other time was when we moved from GA to CA. It was very stressful to not have a job in the financial aspect....but personaly, I wish I never had to work again. Having this next week off before I start my new job will be so awesome. It is a much needed break.

I'm really looking forward to the move in a few weeks. I wish we were moving this week, but no, we must wait. I cant wait to get into a house...with many rooms....and lots of space! J and I were talking not too long ago, and the closer we get to moving into a larger house, the more this cramped space drives us crazy. Banging our knees, running into table edges...it's all driving us mad!! This new space is going to be so awesome. I'll have room for all of my magazines that drive J crazy, and he'll have a room to hang all of his motorcycle stuff in. ;)

Just a few more weeks and it will all be a reality! :)

Today Is My Last Day At Work!!!

And in the words of the infamous Rick James......

CELEBRATE BITCHES!!!!

Thursday, March 16, 2006

Good bye my sweets!!

So how did I end the night before my last day at work you ask? Drunk with my hands on another womans boobies!! WHAT!! You say....well, the ladies at work decided to go out to celebrate two things. My going away, and another womans newly implanted breasts!! So, a few martini's into into the night, we decide to go into the restroom to see her new boobies!! Do they feel real? We ask. You can feel them, I dont care......fast forward to jenjen and ruthie feeling her boobies. Wow...they really do feel real!!! I'm sooo jealous! Now I want fake boobies! So round and perfect! I feel like a real man now!! How can you beat some liquor and boobies! ha!! Ok, so I'm still drunk, but I'm soo happy. We had a few martini's, some good cheese, good conversation...I was sad to know that tomorrow was my last day with these fabulous women! I wont miss most of the people I work with, but I will miss these fabulous women to death! Ladies...I'll never forget the boobies! hahahahahaha!!!!!

Tomorrow is my last day and I'm looking forward to a day of peace and relaxation. Jen and I will most likely hang out all day and screw around. Who wants to work on their last day. I just have to wrap up the odds and ends at my job and get the hell out of there! Jen, you sure you dont want to come with me? ;) Ok, I'm too drunk to think...so I'm off for the night! Love you guys!!!

Replace Me

I've been training a temp at my work to take over for me when I leave. I am so excited to get out of there and move to a house and my new job. I dont care that she is replacing me! I remember when I left my job in MN to move, I was so devastated that someone was replacing me. I liked the person replacing me, and I knew it was nothing personal....it was just hard to know that something I worked so long and hard to build, could just go on without me around. Of course I know a business wont fall apart the minute I leave....everybody is replaceable in the work force...it's just hard. I'm so glad that with this job, I dont have to go through that all over again. In fact, I wish I could just hand it over to her and say here you go...have fun...I'm outta here!! But noooo....I have to sit around with her for days and torture myself thinking about the things I could be doing in the "outside" world.

Ah, next week will be soo nice! I'll be getting my hair done, surfing the net, cleaning my house, and getting everything ready for the move! No work!! I'm soo happy! Nine days of paradise!! :)

Sorry Jen.....sorry to leave you there all by yourself!! You can come live with me!! ;)

If you want to see an interesting show...this is the one to see. It gives you an interesting take on the world of poligamy. I have to say, it's not a lifestyle I could ever live with. Sharing my husband with another woman, let alone many, would be too much for me to bear. I saw the pilot of this when it debuted on Sat or Sunday.....I cant remember....and I thought it was a great show. Definitely one I could see myself watching on a regular basis. I dated a Mormon in high school in Minneapolis and all his family did was try to push their religion on me. I'm all for being whatever you want to be in life...but please dont preach it to me, or try to push it on me. You have your beliefs and I have mine, so I wont judge anyone for the lifestyle they want to lead, as long as they dont judge me. I find this show interesting because I'm able to see a different side of life I wouldn't normally see. Posted by Picasa

Stuck in the Web of World Wide

Do you ever feel like you look at the same, say four, websites over and over again and find yourself bored out of your mind? I have about four sites that I love to go to...but lately, I've been so bored with them and dont know what else to look for. The worldwide web has me at a loss...there is so much out there that one could look their whole life and never see everything...yet I cant get past the same old routine sites I go to all the time. I've been to all the chat boards, myspace's and friendster's......and I'm so bored with them all!! (Ok, not so much bored with Myspace...yet) ;)

So...if you have any suggestions about what I should be looking for, or awesome sites to see....let me know!! :)

Tick, Tock.....and the count down begins.....

Ugh, could this Monday go any slower? Four days left at work after this......I'm watching the clock...tick tock, tick tock. It's killing me!!

Sounds like somebody has a case of the Mundays!!! Bwaha!

I'm so over it!

Sweet Saturday

Could I ask for a better day? What is better than waking up with the love of your life and hanging out with him all day? As we sit here on the couch watching the Daytona 200 (motorcycle racing, J races and does track days) I look at him and think how lucky I am that we are married. Me with my laptop, writing here, J commenting on the race to himself....starbucks, fresh fruit, and cherry turnovers on the table....it all makes me smile. I'm hoping we can go on a "date" tonight to see a movie. Since I have to watch Daytona Race Week (0nce again, motorcycles...I dont want anyone to think I would reduce myself to watching Nascar) for four hours...I'm hoping he'll be up for a movie tonight!!

Things have been stressful here with the new job, move, etc., all taking place in less than 30 days...money is tight with deposits due, etc., until we get our money back from where we live now...but it isnt all that bad...and sitting here with him makes me realize as long as we have each other...we dont need to stress about all the other stuff. We have always made it through and just because it's tough right this second, doesnt mean it will be forever. I tend to lose sight of that and think things are bad all around. So money is tight for one week....(also due to a mistake I made in transferring money to ING on accident and they hold your money for 10 days, then it takes another 5 days to transfer it back...so we are without a few thousand dollars due to my ignorance) We'll manage. I tend to be a glass half empty type of girl....but that is going to change....there is nothing wrong right now, and I'm happy! So I'm just going to accept that and not wait for the other shoe to drop!!

So everyone, be happy....life is too short to stress....and I will try to take my own advice!

Thanks Ladies!

You cant beat Chinese food, champagne, and American Idol!! Thanks to Jen and Nicole for coming over and turning your ordinary night of tv into an awesome time!! Cant beat good food, good drinks, and great company!! And I would like to thank my awesome hubby for his help! I love you baby!! Thanks for putting up with 3 women in your home and all the things we chat about!!

Carrie....I read your email regarding your A.I. judging. (Carrie is now the fourth judge) and you were very accurate. I think you and I are on the same page when it comes to the contestants. I still love Taylor Hicks. Nothing has changed there...he will always be my favorite. Although Chris is very easy on the eyes! :)

The countdown has begun at work. I have one week and two days left until I leave here, and it couldn't come any sooner. My mind is trying to go out the door before I physically do, and I have to keep reminding myself that I have a duty here to do a good job until my very last day. It's been a difficult struggle. Having a good work ethic is hard! ;) We are VERY excited about the move. I cant wait to have all that room and a whole house for the two of us!! I haven't been this excited since I was a child at Christmas. You knew Santa was going to come and leave presents for you, but you couldn't sleep due to the anticipation.....well, that is me now, and it's so awesome to know J feels the same way.

I still just cant believe I will be so far away from the first friend I had here. Jen, I met you over a year ago, day one of our jobs. You have been an awesome friend, and made my time in the city bearable. (I make it sound like I'm in jail, doing time!) We have talked all day long, every day about everything under the sun....and it's been great having your company! You are a true dear friend...and I couldn't have asked to meet anyone better when I moved here! I'm going to miss you when I move!! So you better get used to BART and driving far....and I'll have to come into the city too! What are you going to do in crapland without me? ;)

Nicole, you have been an awesome friend as well. Even though you were going to abandon me first!! I hope Sacto works out for you guys and you just love it there!! We will be closer out where we will be living to you so we will have to get together on weekends and scrap for sure!!! I'm so looking forward to living out there!! Yay!! :)

A sad day.....Is it really true??

I can only assume from reading Carrie's blog that Kirby Puckett passed away? That is crazy. I remember growing up in Minnesota he was such a huge part of every household during baseball season. He was a baseball great, that's for sure.

I'm not sure what happened so I'll have to read up on it. Being out here in CA, I havent heard anything about it.

Like Carrie said.....Rest in Peace Kirby.

The Winds of Change (part 3)

We drove out to the east bay again tonight....this time to meet with the realtor who is renting out the house we looked at yesterday. Well, there were others who applied before us (the woman who showed us the place slipped us that tid bit of info) but the realtor liked us the best! Woo hoo! We got the house! So we are now the proud "renters" of a 3 bedroom, 2 bath house for less than we pay for our 750 sq ft apt in the city!! So exciting!! We signed the lease tonight and we move in on April 1. We had to be out of our apartment by March 31 so I was starting to get scared since it was all happening so fast....but we found this place in record time. On our first day out!! We just knew right away it was the right house.

So...then...on to the reason we are moving. I got a new job!! I'm so excited about it. It's a great career move for me, and I'll be making more than I did working in the city! I never in a million years thought I'd make more than I do here. I couldnt say anything until today because I hadnt given my notice yet. I was sooo nervous about having to do that. Ugh, but I just sucked it up and went into my bosses office and gave notice. It went much better than I expected and he was actually very supportive of my decision.

So, for those of you who know me......I'm sure you want to know where I'll be working....well, that's for me to know, and you to find out. I think people will be suprised when they hear where it is...but we'll leave that for part 4 of the saga that is my life! :)

Any Given Sunday...Winds of Change (part 2)

So today was spent on the road all day!! We have been looking at houses to rent in the east bay. We only looked at three of them, and think we may have found "the one". I liked it the minute I walked in. It is a cute little one story home with 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. It is twice the size of our apartment now in San Francisco for much less rent! woo hoo!! It even has a huge backyard and front yard. Yay, we can BBQ again!! It has a huge master suite with brand new bathroom and brand new appliances. I loved it and hoped J would like it...although his face told me he hated it. The woman showing it finally let us walk around on our own and we discussed it, and turns out, J loves it just as much as we do. There is so much space and it's remodeled! I'm so excited about this move. (This was part of the thing I was excited about but couldnt say anything about, part 2 will be coming soon.)

I will miss certain things about the city....like living by Jen! :( I will miss the conveniences of having a dry cleaner 4 doors down from my apartment. All the good food, etc. I will NOT miss the traffic, the sucky parking, the noise, the teeny apartment......and mostly, I will NOT miss having to haul all of my laundry down 6 flights of stairs to the one washer and dryer the whole apartment complex has, thus fighting with my neighbors over who gets to use it when. Puh-lease. You can keep your crappy ass smelly washer and dryer....I have my own now!! Wish us luck that we get the place!! :)

Damn you MySpace!!!!!!

My name is Ruth, and I'm an addict. Great...I've recently discovered MySpace again, and now I'm addicted to it!!! I've been finding old friends left and right! Crazy!

Ma'am...put the computer down and step away slowly.

UPDATE: How crazy is it when you find your 30 year old ex-boyfriend on myspace and you find out he's dating the daughter of one of your friends. Ha, small world...oh yeah, and she's only 20. Well, like my sister said, at least they are at the same maturity level! bwahahaha!! :P (side note: Ok, ok, I still get along with him and I had to ask him what the hell he was thinking.....I dont think he even knows what he's thinking!)

My So Called (Ordinary)Life

So hmmm...what's been going on with me you ask? I still cant tell you my exciting news...but I can tell you all the other boring details! I spent most of the week working. There has been a lot of American Idol watching...which is on right now by the way! (Taylor rocks!!)

I have been to the gym a few times as well. Sunday we had to wait 40 minutes for a treadmill....24 hour has this stupid policy where you have to sign up for a treadmill in 30 minute increments. Sounds like a good plan right? No, it's not. People sign up for the machines...but then dont come and use them...so you sign up for a machine in 30 minutes. Meanwhile, you are waiting for your machine to open up while there is an empty machine next you. You dont want to get on and start working out because if the person comes at 20 after and wants to work out on the machine for 10 minutes, you would have to get off for them. Then people come up and hop on empty machines without signing up...and go into your time that you signed up for and dont get off the machines just to spite you when you tell them it's your turn. Complete jerks out there....if you havent signed up for a machine.....dont use it. We went on Wed night to work out and the wait was over 40 minutes again so we just went home. We went tonight as well. J almost got into with some guy who wouldnt get off the machine we had signed up for. JERK!

J got his new R6 this week...so that has been keeping him busy. He has another R6 on the way, we just havent picked it up yet. He just found out he is getting a bonus at work, and I just got a bonus yesterday! Woo hoo...it will come in handy later on. What else.....J is going to a track day on Saturday with the new R6. So I'll have some time to relax and get caught up on housework and laundry, etc.

Ok, I think that's all I have for now! There is so much going on right now, but I'll explain more later!! :)

The Winds of Change (part 1)

Wow.....yesterday was a huge day for J and I. We have so many changes coming....I cant write about them just yet....but soon enough you will know. I just dont know who out there in cyberland is reading this and some people cant know what's going on yet. After this weekend you will understand. Jen knows though. hehe!! woo!!

It's all changing in a good way, and I'm very excited for everything that is happening this month. March is going to be CRAZY for us, but I'm looking foward to it and all that it brings!

I cant wait until I can let you all know what is going on!! :)
