Ok, so this morning has been a little tough...not too bad, but a little. Went out last night with J, A, Jen, and some of their friends. We first went to Jake's Steaks for dinner. You can't beat this place man. They have the best cheesesteak's around. This place opened up about 7-8 months ago, and we have been more times than I can count. And if you ever get to go there, say hi to Jake...he's a super nice guy. They are his steak's and all, so you might want to be nice to him.
We decided we would go out for ONE drink after dinner. We ended up at a cute little bar on Filmore (in the marina!! yay!) Well, let's just say, I havent been a huge drinker ever...so it doesnt take much for me. TWO martini's later and I was feeling pretty damn good!! I think Jen and I were the only lightweights there however but we had a blast. I hadn't been out in so long that two drinks at the corner bar was a pretty good time! Thanks for the good company Jen and A....and tell your friends we had fun too!
....and the sad part....yes, this all took place on a Monday night. *Sigh* Getting out of bed today to go to work was NOT fun. Sitting here at work...NOT fun. Going to the gym tonight....NOT fun. But I need go after the dinner we ate last night...so I'm looking foward to it!!

Winter....Good or Bad?
Here is what everyone is dealing with back home. Not just like this, as I took this picture from my front door in Minnesota a few years ago, but it was around this time of year. Winter in Minnesota, is horrible. It's cold, snowy, and depressing!! Winter in San Francisco is (in my opinion) much nicer than the summer here. It's relatively warm and pleasant. The summer is cold and foggy! I'm so glad I am not back in Minnesota right now, although, sometimes I do wish I was back there. Not for any reasons related to the weather though! I hope all of you back home are having fun! ha! ;) And I hope those of you in San Francisco are enjoying this winter and getting ready for the fog! :)

Knitting Update
Ok, so I've been working on this thing whenver I can. I knit a little bit here and there and then have to put it away. So, I should have been done with this a long time ago...but I'm not. Here is a picture of what it looks like as of today. I have so much I want to do today too, that I may not get to it once again! Let's hope I can at least finish by the end of the month. Wow, I never had a lot going on, now I have so many things going on I cant stay on top of everything! :)
Awwwww
I came home from work yesterday to these beautiful roses! Roses are my favorite flower, and J knew I was down and out and had these waiting for me. What a sweetie! I sure am glad that I have him around. Every time I think about these flowers or the card, I smile. Thanks for making me smile honey. I love you! :)

Friday Night
I just got back from the gym and I feel much better!! Working out really makes you feel good!! Just thought I'd share in case anyone out there cares! ;)
One of those days...
Have you ever had one of those days where you just wish it hadnt started yet. I wish I was still at home in bed. I feel so blah and tired and down. As I'm sitting here, I cant even think of anything to say because of how I feel. At least it's Friday.....I just wish it was the end of the work day and I could go home and sleep. I'm tired of carrying the weight of the world on my shoulders. I'm tired of having to be so responsible financially for everything that goes on in my married life. I'm tired of being taken for granted by people who think you will be around forever and you are there because you need to be for some reason, not because you want to be. But who wants to be anywhere when they are taken for granted there? Not me. I feel this way about so many things in my life right now. Am I being selfish for wanting this? I honestly dont know. I just dont know what to think anymore.....where do you cross the line from just wanting to be respected and get what you deserve, to being selfish?

Five Things I'm Greatful For
Stolen now from Ashley who stole it from someone else....who stole it from Oprah, who stole it from Maya or Toni??? Who knows with that Oprah....ugh, she's on my bad side right now...but that's a whole other story.
- My wonderful Husband is definitely number 1!! He puts up with me. Enough said.
- My kitty who loves to attack my feet when I'm going to bed for the night.
- The new books I just bought that I'm looking forward to reading! And going to the book club!
- My job, my paycheck, my stability, and ability to support myself.
- I'm sorry (this is selfish) but my 60" tv to watch my shows on...I LOVE TV!!!!

A Good Weekend
I have had a pretty good weekend so far minus a few headaches. I left work a bit early on Friday and came home and rested. I was starting to get a headache and didnt want a migraine, so I've taken it easy this weekend. Saturday J and I went to the gym to work out....well, I had a headache before we went, and after, well, lets just say it felt like the headache that put me in the hospital a few months ago. I had things I wanted to get done so we went about our day anyway...and J, bless his heart, put up with me all day. I tend to get we'll say a "little" cranky when I have a headache. We went to The Container Store so we could spring clean this weekend. I also wanted to get some containers for my knitting and scrapbooking stuff. Here is what I came up with so far.....

We then went out to celebrate with Jen, her honey, and their friends. We went out for sushi and they went out but my headache was still killing me, so J and I came home and relaxed. I got some more knitting done and we watched Constantine. It was an ok movie.

Today we did a lot of spring cleaning and I have to say, the place is looking much better!! Today was a very relaxing day once the cleaning for the day was done. (There is more to do tomorrow.) After cleaning I read my Glamour, surfed the net, and will continue knitting in a bit! Tonight J and I are going out on a date to see The World's Fastest Indian based on a reco from Carrie and some other friends who have seen it and loved it. I'm actually looking forward to it.
I hope you all have been having a good weekend! I know I'm looking forward to my day off tomorrow!! :)

My Blood, Sweat, and Tears. ;)
Ok, so this piece is dedicated to Carrie (aka knit-whit). I check her blog on a daily basis to see what cute project she has come up with, and it made me long for the good old days back in Minnesota. It's cold outside, the wind is blowing, the snow is falling, and I am sitting in front of my fireplace working on a knitting project. (It's cold and rainy here if that counts?) Granted, I was never an expert, so the only things I've ever knit are scarves. So this is my most current piece. I told Carrie I was going to go home last night and cast on. And...I did. Now this is a very simple piece so I can refresh my memory and make mistakes with it. I used yarn I already had, but I like that it is wispy so it covers any mistakes you may make. This piece is a plain old knit scarf...nothing but a knit stich. I only worked on this for a little bit, and have no idea what I'll do with it when I'm done. I'm hoping this piece will inspire me to learn other things like the socks, etc. and I am maybe thinking of taking a knitting class at a local store as well.
So Carrie, this one's for you! ;) (Feel free to point out any mistakes you see, it's the only way I'll learn!
Update...after looking at the picture, it's too small to see any of the details so I'll try to post a better picture today!

A Struggle that was well worth the agony......
I just realized that today is 3 months to the day that I quit smoking!!! Such a hard thing to go through, but once you have made it past the first month or so, it's well worth it and gets MUCH easier. I don't crave cigarettes every day now. I still have cravings, don't get me wrong, but nothing I cant handle anymore. Now, I cant say it's a success yet because I've quit so many times, and I keep doing this to myself. Why start again? Because I like the torture of trying to quit...no, not really. I keep telling myself this time is for good, and I'm going to stick by it! I'm done with it. I'm done with feeling lousy, smelling like an ashtray, and not being able to breathe. Whew, what a relief to know I never have to feel that way again if I so choose.
Now I'm the person I hated when I smoked...the one who tells you to quit. I try not to preach, but please, if you smoke...quit. Someone loves you, and would hate to watch you die a horrible, slow death. It's just not worth it. If you so choose to keep smoking, I will not bother you, I will just silently pray that you have the strength to get through quitting, because it's sooo worth it. I promise you!
Ok, coming down off my soapbox now.....Good luck to those of you trying to quit, and congrats to those who have quit before me! :)

Ah the Sweet Smell of Success.......
.....And it smells like the gym. I finally did it!! J and I went to the gym tonight for the first time in a long time. It feels good mostly, my back and knees hurt a bit, but that is to be expected. We are eating boring chicken breasts and steamed broccoli for dinner, but all in all, I feel much better already. Being healthy is sooo boring....but sooo good for you!! Getting motivated is hard, but once I do, look out, there's no stopping me!!
Woo hoo Jen, I did it!! Now when are you going to join my poor man's gym so we can work out together!! ;)

Fun Scrapbooking Stuff:
Ode to Jen....
You are so quiet
You are so sweet
You always wear cute shoes
on your feet
You are my savior
While at work
Sametiming you
Is just a perk
We go to kitchen
Every day
From this routine
We never stray
What would I do
Without you around?
I'd go crazy
In this stupid town!

The laziness of it all......
I just realized I'm TV brain dead tonight. I wanted to write something really witty, funny, and entertaining....but I've been watching American Idol and House, and I cant think of anything to write about at all. I'm TV brain dead.......too much TV will obviously put you in a zombie like state. J and I said we needed to get out more and start going back to the gym. I have been feeling awful lately because we havent been eating right and stopped working out. We were going to go tonight but then decided it wasnt very romantic (tonight's excuse anyway)! There is always an excuse and we are great at enabling each other to not go. There I go again......zoning out watching House....it's a pretty good show actually. Ok, so back to going to the gym.....hmmm, who am I kidding, still dont want to go. Anyone with me on this?
Cant....stop....watching...tv,.....must...look....away.

Valentine's Day
Thanks Mom for the chocolates! You cant beat Esther Price! J and I decided a quiet night at home would be more fun than braving the city streets on this Hallmark holiday. J is going to cook me dinner and we will most likely watch a movie on our obnoxiously monsterous tv. I dont think J has even thought about what he is going to cook yet!! So we'll see how that turns out! ;) I just dont believe in going out and spending a fortune to tell my husband that I love him, or need him to spend a fortune to tell me he loves me because we tell each other that every day!

Scrapbooking 101...of sorts
So a few weeks ago I went to ScrapAttack in San Rafael with my friend Nicole because I wanted to start scrapbooking. Well, I've been hooked ever since. That store is unbelievable if you are into this hobby. They have everything imaginable. I have since also discovered the Sassy Scrapbooking Store online.....(the link is in my blog on the left side of the page). I was just recently at ScrapAttack and picked up a few things to start a page dedicated to my kitty! He thinks he's a star, so he should have his own page! The page to the left here is my first page in a long long time. it's no masterpiece but it's a start! I sure had fun working on it with Nicole! Now Nicole is moving to Sacramento and I'm going to be left alone to do all of my scrapbooking by myself! :( Boo hoo!! Hopefully we can have a few scrapbooking get togethers! Here's to happy scrapbooking everyone! :)
The Case of the Missing Words....
Upon checking my blog today, I realized that my words that went along with the picture below dont show up. At least not for me. I go in and republish the post and presto....the words appear. Then if I close the site and try again the words are gone again!! Oh well....so for those of you looking at the pic below.....it has or (had) words with it depending on if you can see them or not!! :)

Picture from Shopping with Jen!
Update....Sensational Saturday....!
Just got back from Best Buy....I finally bought the Epson Picture Mate digital photo printer for scrapbooking! The photos that come out of this thing are exceptional! Besides dealing with the employees at Best Buy, I'm very excited about it!! Now if only the scrapbook stuff I ordered online would get here...then I could start working on it! :)
Sensational Saturday!
Thanks Jen for the fun day of window shopping....haha, I mean not window shopping. I had fun!! It is so beautiful outside today, and I'm so glad we spent time walking around enjoying the sunshine!! I love my new sunglasses.....and I cant get that cashmere scarf out of my head!! J thinks I'm crazy wanting to spend that much on a scarf...but hey, it's Burberry!! ;) hehe Your scarf if fan-flippin-tastic as well!! Nicely done on both our parts....I think we controlled ourselves well enough. ;)
Lunch was good too. Jake's is awlays a good choice and we even got to sit at the same table we did for our b-day celebrations! yay! And there sure are a lot of men in there! And as we all know......it's a great place to watch for women...hehe, those boys were so dumb. Yeah, sitting in a place full of men is a great place to look for women...they werent the brightest bulbs in the pack. We even got to see a cowboy....quite the day, I'd say. All in all a fun time. J and I are off to Best Buy now so I can work on my other obsession.....scrapbooking! :)

Our wedding....May 5, 2005
