Man, was my life always this boring?

Ok, so I actually enjoyed sitting around doing nothing this weekend. But I really have nothing interesting to blog about, because nothing interesting has happened lately. J was out of town this weekend so I rested and caught up on laundry, etc. I am getting sick...yuck. I have a sore throat and I cant hear anything either. On Saturday I started sneezing non stop...so that's great.

I took the state notary exam on Saturday morning. I had that stuff down pat...and then I take the test and it really threw me for a loop. It's not complicated stuff, but the test was so damn specific in it's questions, that I honestly dont know if I passed or failed. I did some shopping on ebay for my current obsession....Bare Escentuals. I found some great deals and got the make up bag they offer that I wanted really bad...for less than you can buy it in the store! Yay! That was my find of the weekend.

I did laundry, cleaned, and went to the grocery store. Yay, I've turned into a boring suburbanite. Ha!! Man, it was hot today out here!! In the 80's!! yes, finally!! I think this is the first hot weather I've been in since we lived in Atlanta! I love the East Bay!!

I cant wait until J gets home! I need someone to take care of me while I feel like I'm dying. :)

• I have become somewhat of a financial guru in the past month (IRA's, rollovers, you name it)

Why is it so funny when people fall?

Tonight I get to do laundry, pack, and balance the checkbook to get ready to go out of town this weekend. We are going down to L.A. to for a track day for J. We are meeting Brian and Susie down there so that should be fun. I have a lot to do before we go though....all with back pain. Driving 7 hours each way isnt going to be fun with back pain either. We had a rather humorous incident (now that I look back) that happened here and I hurt my back. Ok, I'll tell you.....I was leaving for work on Wednesday and J was in the shower. I went in to give him a kiss goodbye and he stuck his head out from behind the curtain and leaned to kiss me. Well, his foot slipped out from under him and he yanked the whole shower curtain down....the tension rod hit me on the head, and as he fell, I tried to grab him instinctively...well, he weighs more than I do and I hurt my shoulders, back, and a few other muscles here and there....and then I had to drive to work. Blah...so at the time, it hurt....and I laugh now whenever I think about it. J said we are both getting old and maybe he should get a medic alert button in case I'm not there next time....lol....help, I've fallen, and I cant get up!!! :P LOL

New Obsession

Ok ladies...have you ever stumbled upon something that you cant stop buying? It's especially hard when it's makeup....I NEED this blush, I NEED this powder. Well, here is mine. I came upon this stuff thanks to the ladies on the nest, and now I cant get enough. I bought the starter kit the other day, and then I made the mistake of watching the DVD that comes with the makeup....now I NEED it ALL!! I went to Sephora today and Nicole will be happy to know that I purchased Clear Radiance. I also bought Bisque, and the buzz latte lip balm. I LOVE THIS STUFF! Ok, I've never had horrible skin, but it's never been great either. I tend to break out regulary and this stuff is awesome in that regard. It covers what breakouts I do have, and it helps my skin look and feel great. And the skin rever uper is great...I think it has AHA in it, and my skin looks great. You can layer this stuff on too and it feels like you arent wearing anything at all. I have super sensitive skin and it doesnt bother it at all! I highly recommend it to everyone!! :)

A Weekend of Work

If you can call it that. The rain broke yesterday (woo hoo) for most of the day. J was able to mow the lawn with his new mower. :) I was able to get some laundry done as well. So my hard weekend starts today with some shopping!! Yay! J and I have been on a mission to pay off debt and we have done exceptionally well over the last year and a half. So now we can only purchase things that we have cash for. Well, I finally have enough cash to go buy a new couch, coffee table, and maybe a headboard depending on how much everything costs. I'm very excited to be able to get this stuff that we really need, and NOT have to put it on a credit card! Our hard work is finally starting to pay off. We still have a lot of work in front of us, but the light at the end of the tunnel is showing and we are quicky approaching! yay! I know most people dont want to talk about their financial situations freely due to shame, guilt, etc? But I will talk freely about it to anyone, because I feel once I take ownership of the mistakes I've made to put me in debt, I can start taking action to getting out. All in all, we werent nearly as bad off as most American's, but it still drove me crazy knowing I was paying interesting on things I couldnt even remember buying!!

So, today is a fun shopping day with cash only!! I can buy more of my obsession (I'll post about that later), and I can buy furniture!

J and I are going bowling tonight too, so that should be fun. We havent been out in town since we've moved here really, so tonight should be fun to see how the people of the town are, and how people act toward each other. Anything is better than the snobby ass people that lived in the city and wouldnt give the time of day to anyone who made even $1.o0 less than them. Blah, SOO happy to be out of the city.

What's My Name?

You can call me Ruthie Stewart....as in Martha....as in I baked cookies from scratch. yeah, I rock. I can't even remember the last time I baked cookies. It's was fun and frustrating at the same time. I only have 2 cookies sheets if you can believe that, and that isnt enough to rotate the cookies!! So they arent perfect looking in shape, but they taste damn good and they are a nice golden brown color! Yummy!!!

It's raining. Wow, haven't seen rain in a while. Let's see...that would be rain 8 out of the 9 days in April already....after raining 20+ days in March. Super Great!!!

Sunday Shopping

Donna and I went to Costco this afternoon. I have to say, it was the first time I EVER got out of there spending under $100.00. It was a nice relaxing shopping experience, despite the fact it was super crowded there. Maybe I should hang out with Donna more often, if she can calm me down that much. heh! I got a few new bottles of wine to try out as well, so we'll see how those taste!! Yay for Costco...that place is great! I'm on a budget right now with the move and all, so had I been able to spend to my hearts content, I would be broke right now! There are so many fun things in there! Donna was also nice enough to bring us our first plant for the new house!! Thanks Donna! :)

I also need to thank Jen for bringing over Dinner last night! We had some chicken in an awesome marinade from Hawaii that her parents sent. It was yummy!! We grilled out with the chicken and made a homemade macaroni type salad as well. That was equally as yummy! I'm glad you were able to come out here and see the new place! We also went out for some Baskin Robbins...mmmmmm. Cant beat that. We ate like kings...heh!! j/k!

Change of Title

What's in a name? Why are title's so important? Well, I think I may need to change mine. I'm no longer a San Francisco Stranger. I'm thinking....The life and times of a suburban wife? No, too lame....The life and times of someone who doesn't pay an oversized price for an undersized apartment?

Hmmm.....I'm at a loss here. I cant even think of anything to write about. I wanted to update you guys as to what's going on because I havent posted since Monday, but I cant think of a single thing right now.

So I'm asking that you give me any suggestions you may have for a new title.....HELP!!! **sigh**

Will it ever end????

WTF Man!!! I'm sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo sick of this rain. It has rained for like a month straight. Is it ever going to stop? Growing up in cold snowy Minnesota, I always has these grand ideas of how California would be. It would be sunny and 70's all day every day. No matter where you were in the state. Ok, so maybe I was 7 when I had that thought...but still, come on. Enough is enough. There is flooding, mud slides, rain, rain, and more rain. We need to gather 2 of every animal and hit the Ark. Quick!!! Does this mean the end of the world is coming? Isn't that one of the prophecies?? I'm serioulsy getting depressed with this weather...I havent seen the sun in ages. Even in the dead of winter in MN, we still saw the sun!!

Here's to hoping the sun decides to peek it's little head out every now and then. PLEASE....FOR THE LOVE OF GOD!
