Three Day Weekend!!!

Saturday started off on a much better note than this past week did! J went to the house in Livermore and mowed the lawn for the LAST time!!! We are done with that house!! :) We lost $900.00 on the deal, but it so worth not to have to deal with that landlord anymore. What a royal pain in my you know what. I've never worked with someone so difficult. But whatever...we are done with her and my blood pressure can remain normal again, at least for now! ;)

My friend Nicole had her 28th birthday party last night. It was nice to be out in a social setting again with people I actually like. haha! We had a great time, and I'm SO happy that J actually got along with some of the husbands there, meaning I will actually get a social life again because he wont mind coming with me to places the girls are going to be if their husbands are there.

Some friends from MN are coming here this morning in about half an hour and we are going to hang out with them today and tomorrow morning. It will be nice to visit and see what's been going on back home that we are missing out on. J had an awesome group of friends back home that were all into riding as well, and we miss them a lot. So all of y'all, git yur butts out here to visit! :P

And, best of all, it's a three day weekend!!! Yes!!! I'm so tired. I'm definitely tired of driving to work every day as far as it is, so any break I can get, is much appreciated!

My Lousy week in a nutshell

Ok, everyone always asks why I'm negative all the time...so see previous post....I try to be positive. But every time I start to accept things for the way they are and be content with my life, all hell breaks loose.....no lie. I was happy, things were good...and then this week happened....

1) Grandpa has cancer and has been fighting it for a long long time. And after a long hard fight, we think he has just about run out of energy to keep fighting. :( Hang in there gramps....we love you.

2) My dear friend/ex-coworker who works for my company in Minnesota was diagnosed with terminal lung cancer. I just cant believe it. She is an awesome person, and she doesn't deserve this.

3) J's ex who cant seem to get a grip on reality and accept the fact that we have been married, oh, I don't know, 2 YEARS decided to email him yet again this week. I finally think she is gone out of our life as he cant stand her either....but yet, every 6 months or so, she pops up again trying to get back into his life. Uh, hello...he has a wife.....how about a little respect? But, what can you expect from a classless (is that a word?) white trash whore. Nuff said.

4) My work screwed up my vacation accrual and were giving me an hour too much per pay period for a bit, then 3 hours too much...so rather than gradually fix their mistake, they took 51 hours of vacation away from me...I only had 46. So...there goes any vacations I had planned this year. Thanks....good to know 9 years of service is worth that much to you.

5) J had a shelf fall on his head yesterday and has a huge bump on his head and he scraped himself up pretty good. Poor thing. He was not a happy camper last night...and I don't blame him. I was worried he had a concussion because it looked so bad, but he insisted he was fine.

6) J's ipod finally broke. I've had mine a year longer than he has, yet his died first..and we don't have money right now to replace it due to the house, etc. So that is always fun.

On the bright side (see, there is the positivity), it's a 3 day weekend, and I'm taking full advantage of it. I'll be drinking myself silly all weekend long to try to forget about this week. Ok, so I don't drink all that much....but still, I'm going to try! ;)

And the minutes roll on...........

Blink....blink.....blink......goes the cursor as I sit and look at the computer screen. What is my problem? I mean, I know my blog had never been "deep", but I just don't seem to have much to write about lately. Besides driving 1.5 hours to work, and 2 hours home, I'm pretty content with my life. We have this fabulous house, a great dog, we're both employed.....things are great! I guess when I don't have anything to complain about, I don't really know what to say! ha That's sad!

The last few years of our life have been hectic to say the least...we've moved 4 times, changed jobs twice, and gotten married. I finally feel like we are getting settled into our life. I feel like things are good, and we are putting down roots. Granted, we may not be here for long, but for now, I sure am happy with the way my life has turned out.

Blink....blink....blink.......and life goes on!

Saturday in Sactown

I went out with my friend Faith tonight for dinner and cocktails. She took me to an Italian place in Sacramento. They had awesome food!! So, we discovered this new drink entitled "The grown up Shirley Temple"...all I can say is....YUM. It was Black Cherry Vanilla vodka, lemon lime soda, and some other good stuff. Wow, it was dangerously good. We could have downed that thing in about 3 seconds flat. I had to control myself to not drink it too fast! I finally am starting to love it here in California. I miss my girlfriends from back home. I miss going out to dinner, drinks, dancing, etc. and having a fun night out on the town. Don't get me wrong,I love my husband more than anything, and I love my friends I've made thus far here....but I finally feel like I'm getting back into the groove I once I had in my "old" life. Jen, this doesn't include you...you are the one person that made California bearable for me!! I miss you tons!!! I wish you could be here and going out with me! I truly enjoyed tonight and felt relaxed and like I didn't need to impress anyone. I feel like I'm finally with a group of people who are just like me, and I don't need to try to be someone else to get along with them. I'm really looking forward to the year to come!!

Ok, what the heck.....

I come back from being on a hiatus for a month or two and blogger is all changed and stuff. ha! What the heck is that all about? Ruth left, let's confuse her when she comes back...cuz this blog thing was difficult enough before!

So, my resolution, is to get my life in order. Things have been super hectic since Thanksgiving with moving, etc. I need to get my office set up and things organized. I then plan to update my blog more and keep on top of things again! It's crazy how out of touch I feel right now!

Ok, I swear, I'm going to try my best!!! No, I'm not going to try, I'm going to do it!!

UPDATE: I think I'm digging this new format...but not 100% sure yet!! :P
